LATEST UPDATE!

EVENT 3 OF 4! On Sunday 2nd October 2022 – Mark completed the Loch Ness Marathon in an incredible 4 hours and 3 minutes.  Despite all of his physical feats he has conquered, this is Mark’s first ever marathon.  Although he has vowed it will not be his last….he want’s to now get a sub 4 hour finish time!   He is now preparing for the Dava Way 50k event in November!  Show your support by donating and leaving a message of encouragement on his JustGiving page (link below).

We are delighted to share that Mark Georgeson our Vice Chair is undertaking a huge challenge to raise money for The Oxygen Works and other local charity Headway Highland.

Mark was knocked off his bike by a van back in 2018  resulting in a broken back, neck, pelvic bleed and brain injury and subsequent medical retirement from his job. Since his terrible accident he has focussed heavily on his recovery and has cited both The Oxygen Works and Headway Highland as being instrumental to his amazing well being today.

This year he will be undertaking not one, not two but FOUR amazing challenges!! The Celtman0.5. For those not familiar to this world, the Celtman is an extreme Iron Man distance triathlon around Torridon and the 0.5 is a Half Iron Man version that includes cycling over the Beallach Na Ba.  Also, the Inverness Half Marathon in March, The Loch Ness Marathon in October and the Dava Ultra in November.  I mean WOW! A huge challenge indeed!

Mark has started a blog telling his story from the accident to his substantial recovery and then on to his phenomenal fundraising efforts. Please go and have a read of his blog and please do donate if you can. Every penny will help him on his way!
