After a decade of distinguished service, Dan Jenkins has stepped down as Chair. Dan, who joined the Board in 2012 and became Chair in 2014, has been instrumental in shaping the vision and strategy of The Oxygen Works, significantly enhancing our services and expanding our reach to better serve the community. His leadership was crucial in steering the organisation through the Covid pandemic and a major flood in 2021, which closed the centre for nine months. We are grateful that Dan will continue to serve on the Board, ensuring his invaluable experience and insights remain with us.
We warmly welcome Mark Georgeson as our new Chair. Mark, who joined our Board in February 2020 and has been serving as Vice Chair, brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of The Oxygen Works’ mission and values. His leadership will ensure a seamless transition and continued growth for our organisation.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Helen Lavery will step into the role of Vice Chair. Helen, a Regional Partner at Zero Waste Scotland who joined the Board in November 2019, has a broad and longstanding relationship with The Oxygen Works from her previous role as Senior Project Manager at Highlands and Islands Enterprise. She brings a great range of skills and experience to her new position.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dan for his exceptional leadership and dedication. We are confident that under Mark and Helen’s guidance, The Oxygen Works will continue to flourish and provide transformative support to those in need.
